Dr. Pamela R. Matthews is Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and professor of English at Texas A&M University. Prior administrative positions at Texas A&M include vice provost for academic affairs; associate provost for undergraduate studies; associate dean for undergraduate programs in the college of liberal arts; associate head in the department of English; and director of women’s studies.

Scholarly publications include Ellen Glasgow and a Woman’s Traditions (1994), Aesthetic Subjects (coedited, 2003), and Perfect Companionship: Ellen Glasgow’s Selected Correspondence with Women (2005). Recognitions at Texas A&M include a Montague Teacher-Scholar Award from the Center for Teaching Excellence, a college-level Distinguished Achievement Award, and a Robert M. Gates Inspiration Award for support of the Regents’ Scholars, a scholarship program for first-generation students.
